Our AHL 5 team hosted Ballyboden St. Enda’s in Russell Park on Sunday Morning. In an extremely competitive game contested by 2 strong sides, Ballyboden ran out winners by 3 points.
Playing with the aid of the wind Ballyboden lead 1-9 to 5 points at half time. A strong second half performance from Brigid’s, saw the deficit reduced to 3 points going into added time, of which, surprisingly little allowed for.
The home team’s efforts weren’t helped by the start stop nature of the game especially in the last quarter when momentum was on Brigid’s side and the deficit was reduced - unfortunately just not enough on the day.
Ballyboden St. Enda’s 1-17
St. Brigid’s 1-14.
Next up is a home tie against Civil Service on Wednesday 30th of April.

The AHL 7 team faced vs Naomh Fionnbarra in Pope John Paul II Park on Sunday morning making the short trip into Cabra for this local derby.
St. Brigid’s were out to make their mark following a narrow defeat in their last outing and did so with conviction burying 2 goals in the opening half.
Naomh Fionnbarra kept within reach of the visitors keeping the scoreboard ticking over and despite the goals only trailed by 5 points at half time - Naomh Fionnbarra 0-6 St. Brigid’s 2-5.
The home side came out in the second half revived adding plenty of fuel to the fire with the men in red. They netted their first and only goal of the game and their comeback was on.
But St. Brigid’s defence held watertight and our attack ensured the Cabra men were kept at bay in the final stages of the game for a well earned 4 point win away from home.
