It was a carbon copy for our Senior Footballers as they beat Templogue Synge Street by 1 point in Russell Park on Saturday evening after holding a the same lead against the wind at half time - just as they had done vs Pobal Parnell in their last outing.
TSS made full use of the wind in the first half letting the ball in quick and early in the first half with a blitz of points - but a goal for Brigid’s nearing the end of the first half made sure the home side kept the lead going into the break.
A powerhouse performance from Sean Egan in midfield was pivotal in Brigid’s attacks in the second half, as they made full use of the wind paving the way for what looked like a comfortable lead midway through the second half. However TSS drove on in the final third with scores - including 2 pointers - to reduce the hosts lead but St. Brigid’s finished with a one point win.

AFL 6
The AFL 6 team travelled to Islandbridge Sunday morning to look for a pivotal win against Civil Service who had won their previous four games. AFL 6 has proved to be a tight division with Brigid’s now sitting in 4th position sharing it with seven other teams on points difference.
The visitors had a tough slog on a greasy pitch, but gallant defending and punishing Service’s mistakes gave Brigid’s the edge - keeping the hosts to just four scores from their attacks and earning well deserved victory after a rounded performance to beat Service by 6 points.
Civil Service 1-3
St. Brigid’s 0-12
AFL 8
Bank of Ireland were the challenge for the AFL 8 lads in Russell Park on Sunday morning.
They faced a well drilled Bank side who came out on top on the day.
St. Brigid’s had the visitors on the ropes for periods of the game, but conceding goals and some indecision ultimately allowed Bank to creep away with the win.

St. Brigid’s 0-13
AFL 9
Our Junior 9’s were in Russell Park Friday night where they were met Robert Emmets who are unbeaten in the league this year.
Despite Emmets recent good form, Brigid’s kept it tight not letting the visitors get a foothold for most of the game.
Unfortunately, the hosts ran out of steam near the end conceding victory to a well organised Emmets team by 5 points.
