Our three Ladies Football teams continued to thrive this week with another three wins last Wednesday with two home fixtures and one away to O’Tooles.

Senior Ladies
Our Senior Ladies welcomed Clanna Gael/Fontenoy to a sun kissed Russell Park for an 7:15pm throw in.

The Brigid’s girls, building on last week’s win over St. Pat’s (D), continued to attack with menace and conviction showing absolutely no issue finding the goal mouth.

The girls in red piercing the Clanna Gael defence time after time, put 10 goals in their opponents net.
Clanna Gael worked hard for their scores but Brigid’s were fitter and stronger in all areas on the evening, especially carrying ball and not wasting their possession.
St. Brigid’s defended in packs putting the Clanna Gael attack under constant pressure  as soon as they pushed forward.
A well deserved win for the Senior Ladies who will hope to push on vs Clann Mhuire in two weeks time.

St. Brigid’s 10-12
Clanna Gael Fontenoy 3-4

Adult B Team
Our Second Ladies team travelled north to O’Tooles to face a team who were chasing points with just one win on the board.

St. Brigid’s set the tone in the first half with two goals from Holly Brerton and Hannah Divitto along with hard worked points from Sinead Cuggy and Mya Tuathaill who faced a solid O’Tooles defence. Brigids’s lead at the break by 7 points, 2-4 to 0-3.

The second half half painted a different game with both teams under constant attack as O’Tooles chased the gap but Brigid’s pushed on holding firm in the backs.

Up the other end of the Leah Gath, Holly Brerton & Mya Tuathaill tapped over points to stifle the O’Tooles comeback in what was a very close game in the final third with Brigid’s coming out on top with a 8 point win on the road.

O’Tooles 0-6
St. Brigid’s 2-4

Adult C Team
It was three from three as out third team were in Russell Park to faced Fingallians from Swords who they were matched on points.

It was the home team who pushed forward putting points on the board and points on the league table with clinical attacking and robust defending against young and fit Fingallians team.

But they were no match for our girls who supported and worked for each other, taking scores from the correct positions and when the goals were on, they finished with conviction netting 3 times against the visitors.

A great win on home ground for our girls as they now sit top of the league after their victory - they face second placed Pobal Parnell in their next fixture away.
