Congratulations to our LGFA ‘C’ team who brought home the Junior M Shield title this evening versus St. James Gaels/An Caisleán.
The first half started off in fifth gear off with a fantastic goal from Doireann Carey but this was quickly wiped out at SJG responded with a goal of their own.
The scoring was end to end with SJG keeping the scoreboard ticking over, giving themselves a four point lead.
Brigid’s then came from 4 points behind in the final third to bring it to a draw, bringing the game to extra time.
But girls were on fire and came out all guns blazing in extra time - once they got ahead there was no catching them as they played out of their skins.
The final whistle went just before darkness as the girls celebrated their shield title.
