St. Brigid’s Ga Ga Man Shed was founded in  2024 as a place for men who were in their “golden years” to socialise and support one another within the existing St. Brigid’s club structure.

With the full support of the executive and club members, dressing room 6 was repurposed as headquarters with the official opening event by Jack Chambers TD in October 2024.

The Ga Ga Man Shed’s Mission Statement is:

“We honour the legacy of those who came before us, by nurturing the seeds they planted—ensuring the spirit, strength, and soul of St Brigid’s GAA continues to flourish for generations to come.”

Most of us have been part of St Brigid’s for longer than we care to remember . We’ve witnessed its journey from humble beginnings—a green field in Blanchardstown—to the proud, thriving heart of community it is today. What once was a dream is now a club with world-class facilities, a sanctuary for sport, belonging, and tradition—serving every age, from toddlers taking their first steps onto the pitch to seasoned veterans still cheering from the sidelines.

Through the years, our children played here. They built friendships that shaped their lives, created memories etched in time.

Now, we are privileged to see our grandchildren lace up their boots and step onto the same sacred ground. This generational bond—built through sport, laughter, competition, and camaraderie—is a living legacy few communities in the world can claim.

We know the truth: this club became what it is because of the dedication, vision, and tireless effort of extraordinary men and women who gave everything to make it possible. We are the fortunate inheritors of their dream. And now, it’s our time to give back.

As we enter a new chapter in our lives, one thing matters more than ever: our health & wellbeing , our connection, and our purpose. That’s why we created something new, something special—for us, by us—a space where we can stay active, stay engaged, and stay together.

Welcome to the St Brigid’s GAA
Ga Ga Man Shed.

Here, we look after our wellbeing in the best way possible: surrounded by friendship, laughter, and the support of our beloved club. We’re here to give a helping hand when it’s needed, to share stories, skills, and wisdom, and to continue building something bigger than ourselves.

Because we are St Brigid’s.

And the legacy goes on!”

…and the lads have certainly lived up to it!

The Ga Ga Man Shed began their escapades with a visit to Croke Park in December of 2024. Their maiden outing included the tour of the stadium, dressing rooms and GAA Museum.

Spring 2025 came round and the trips were planned for the year with the first being to Government Buildings in April.

June 2025 saw the Ga Ga Man Shed visit Kilmainham Gaol for the tour, where they gave a rendition of the song “Grace”, famously associated with Joseph Mary Plunkett who was imprisoned there.

The following month the Ga Ga Man Shed ventured further afield with their first inter-county fixture where they visited Stormont in Belfast.

And finally, last August they made the short trip in to visit the Lord Mayor of Dublin in the Mansion House.

Aside from their social antics, the Ga Ga have generously and silently volunteered their time around the club for events such as the Mini Leagues, concert parking, blitz’s and other club events assisting with set up, parking, crowd control and other general duties as well as carrying out ad-hoc maintenance around the club grounds.

The first year of the Ga Ga Man shed has been most memorable as a hub and support structure - and everybody is always welcome.
