Thursday, March 5th, saw the Women of St. Brigid’s GAA Handball bounce into action for "Women in Sport Week 2026".

Russell Park welcomed the female handball players from Maynooth, Killcock, and Leixlip.
The four clubs coming together made for an interesting night of  handball with varying styles of play, speed, and experience. The opportunity to network and learn from each other was invaluable.

The 2 40x20 allies and 2 indoor onewalls were well played with 16 people playing at all times.  The ladies even contemplated the outdoor walls, however the weather on the night didn't play ball!
To ensure everyone got the opportunity to try both codes of handball, the players were rotated through the courts every 15 mins.

The night ended with a beverage in the clubhouse bar and promises of return visits.  Overall, it was a lovely night of social, bordering competitive handball!

Here's to ‘Women in Sport Week" - all ladies welcome, every Thursday from 7:30-9pm.
